OB breeding goal

The Swiss Original Braunvieh (OB) shall remain a dual purpose breed, namely a dairy and a beef breed. Besides a good and reliable milk performance, much importance is given to muscle development, i.e. beef performance. Original Brown cattle can be some centimeters smaller and have a slightly lower milk production. The other criteria listed under “Swiss Brown Cattle” apply to OB cattle as well.
