Federation
Braunvieh Schweiz was established as a co-operative on 7 February 1897 in Zurich. It is an organization that represents the interests of the Brown Cattle breeders. It determines the breeding aim and breeding programs for the Brown Cattle, keeps the herd book and carries out the corresponding performance tests with breeding value estimations.
Braunvieh Schweiz is the service center for Brown Cattle breeders, organizations and livestock owners providing support for breeding and management and offering modern, first-rate and inexpensive products with a high benefit. Braunvieh Schweiz also encourages the development and the expansion of Brown Cattle as a profitable and efficient breed. With its activities it makes a contribution to an economic and long-lasting livestock husbandry in Switzerland.
